Excellent Professional Eye Doc

Amazing, thoughtful and kind. I have been to lots of eye docs in the last few years because I suffer from dry eyes after wearing contacts for the past 25 years. After getting lots of not-so-great advice, I went to Dr. Schlussel and he helped clear up my red, dry eyes within a few days. He listened to my story, gave me his best advice, took extra care to give me a great eye exam and then sent me on my way. I had been to him in the past but tried a few others closer to a new job...now, I will never stray again! He's really professional, courteous, knowledgeable and in no way overbearing. A terrific doctor!‎

"I found Dr. Alan Schlussel by doing online research for my dry eye condition. After suffering from dry eyes for over one year and no longer being able to wear contacts, I was really frustrated and hesitant to explore my options because I had no idea what they were. I was really afraid to visit a doctor who would just prescribe me an eye drop and send my on my way. Dr. Schlussel's website was very helpful and I really looked forward to meeting him so I could learn exactly what was the cause of my dry eyes. My first visit with him was most definitely the best experience I could have hoped for! I first learned in making the appointment that the visit was actually covered under my medical health plan, even though I didn't have vision coverage! Once there, the doctor took so much time to explain every detail about my specific condition: reasons, treatments, at home care, etc. I felt 100% confident that I now knew what was going on with my eyes and that it would be treated properly and effectively with his treatment and advice. Dr. Schlussel gave me plenty of product samples to take home and use which I loved because I felt like rather than push products for me to purchase, he actually wanted to help me! The exam included a high tech image of my retina, so I was assured my eye was healthy still and finally, he fitted me for the most comfortable lenses I've ever worn in all of my 17 years of contact lense-wearing. I found his fees to be really reasonable and overall, I really feel lucky to have found his office. He's very kind and patient but most importantly, he's an expert and was able to begin treatment for my dry eye condition and to prescribe the best contact lenses for me. I'm so relieved that I'm not stuck having to wear glasses for the rest of my life and I would hope that anyone who experiences the annoyance and discomfort of dry eyes finds Dr. Schlussel's office as well!"

"As someone who is VERY selective about the doctors I choose, I must say Dr. Schlussel is one of the best. He is beyond thorough. I've worn glasses since 6 yrs. of age so I have seen a few eye doctors in my day. However at my first appt. with Dr. Schlussel, I was blown away by his knowledge, professionalism, ability and infinite patience. Dr. Schlussel will answer thoroughly any question you ask and I've asked a bunch of them. I never feel rushed when I am in his office even when he is very very busy. As I told him at my last office visit, Dr. Schlussel is my favorite doctor and one of the best oculists I have ever had."

"This is one of the best optometrists in NYC, very knowledgeable doctor, with a friendly environment. I came with my family of 4, we all had our eyes checked and we all bought glasses. A very friendly woman by the name of Sabina explained to us what was covered by our insurance and what was not. We decided to spend a little bit out of pocket for better glasses, because we all know what kind of cheap glasses insurance gives. My wife got these gorgeous glasses, I don't remember the name but they were just stunning and she totally loved them. The kids got great glass with these specials lens made for kids that don't break, Sabina was great at explaining this all to us and she took her time with each of us. We spent about 2 hours and felt like we are at home. Dr. Alan Schlussel also made us feel right at home, my kids are small so they were nervous but he took his time and we all got threw it with flying colors.
If you want a great eye doctor then I highly recommend this doctor, there is also a garage where you can park and always tons of parking around the area. He will have my business for life."
